Accommodation: Personal Review of Holiday Inn Express in Kelowna, BC

We had our 2 day family escapade a week ago in Kelowna, BC. Since it was my first time to land in the place, I took the opportunity to capture photos on every memorable spots, activities, fun we had. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to visit all the breathtaking destinations that we had planned before due to the shortage of time. Driving back and forth across Kelowna, searching for accommodation for that evening was such a terrible experience. Well, I told my husband that I could snore inside the car, yet he still insists especially as we are traveling with the kids.

Mostly, the hotels close to downtown Kelowna were fully booked when we made the inquiry. Traveling a further place without settling down the last accommodation is such a huge mistake for any traveler. In our case, that time was not really our schedule for that certain trip. In a short phrase, it was an instant decision.

Anyway, after driving back and forth for a long time, we finally did find our resting place, the Holiday Inn Express. It is close to the Orchard Mall. Holiday Inn is usually where my husband stays when he was on a business trip on his previous employer.

Below are my personal captured photos while we were there. Telling you, this is not a sponsored post, I am just sharing our experience during our stay.

My Personal Review

We have chosen the Guest Room with 2 queen size beds, for us and our children. I like the room because it was clean and with pleasant odor inside. As we get inside the room, the kids immediately opened their boxes given by the customer service. Inside each box are fliers from different business establishments with discount coupons.

Like other hotels, there are essential room appliances such as mini-fridge, coffee maker, microwave oven, iron and television helped us. Of course, there are also complimentary toiletries provided by the hotel. In fact, hubby and I liked the aroma of their Wine-Citrus scent lotion. When it comes to their bathroom, so far it was clean, although just an old bathtub in there paired with an old shower head.

The hotel amenities that we quite enjoyed or used was their swimming pool, water slides and the internet. The others were not as we checked-in very late already and besides, we stayed only for one night. So what do you expect?

The kids greatly had fun with the water slides, even though I wasn’t able to take them again in the morning as I have promised. We just don’t have enough time actually.

Buffet Classic Breakfast

Including in the accommodation is a continental buffet style breakfast that the whole family certainly enjoyed. What impressed me much inside their restaurant is the automatic pancake machine maker. If you don’t have the crave to eat pancake for breakfast, maybe in an instant you’ll decide to get one as pressing their command buttons is so much fun!

My Hotel Rating

 Value – 3 Stars

Room and Comfort-  4 Stars

Variety of Breakfast Choices- 5 Stars

 Staff and Service- 3.5 Stars

Sounds like you had a nice stay. I have stayed at Holiday Inn Expresses before and was always very happy.

Looks nice! Call me strange, but I am one of those people when visiting a hotel has to like the way it smells. I have a sensitive nose and if it smells weird in any way, then I don’t want to stay there…haha!

Sounds like a decent place to stay. We don’t do a lot of traveling, but I know I always find I have a better experience if the place has a decent breakfast available. I wish I could remember the name of the hotel we stayed at on our first anniversary 8 years ago. They had an awesome breakfast.

The Holiday Inn Express is great, their hot complimentary breakfasts can’t be beat. I used to work at one and they do try to make the stay as pleasant as possible.
