Summer Delights

If you’re looking for a great summer getaway this year, you’ve got the world at your feet. Near or far, beach or bay, mountains or lakes, there’s a heavenly array of holiday destinations out there just waiting to be discovered.

Let’s start with the Caribbean. As beach holidays go, this one is right up there with the best of them. Porcelain-white sands, twinkling azure seas, gently rustling palms and that wonderfully laid-back Caribbean vibe – it’s everything you could ever wish for an unforgettable beach holiday. Cuba holidays are ideal for enjoying laid-back days on the sands and buzzing nights out. Or you could head to the glorious Caribbean Coast of Mexico, to such lively resorts as Cancun or Riviera Maya, for a beach-centric escape with plenty of great day trips and fascinating excursions on offer. Follow a guide into the steamy jungle, trek across its mist-shrouded mountain range, or explore lost Mayan civilizations at the mysterious Chichen Itza.

For something closer to home, why not try the lovely island of Cyprus – said to be the birthplace of mythical goddess Aphrodite? She certainly left her mark on this place, and it’s evident in everything from the glittering sands and twinkling seas to the lush mountainous interior, home to the stunning Troodos Mountain range. Or why not head to the lovely Greek Islands, home to such gems as Kefalonia, volcanic Santorini, quiet little Samos or big, bustling Crete?

Whatever you fancy, you’ll find a wonderful array of summer delights by searching for package holidays – and a healthy supply of great deals too. For instance, Thomas Cook holidays 2013 are serving up a fabulous array of summer breaks and you’ll find some great last-minute discounts too, especially for tail-end winter getaways in year-round locations such as the Canary Islands or North Africa.

So, with the warmer weather on its way, where will your summer delight take you?
